Revised National Competency Profile Coming Fall 2026
The National Competency Profile Pan-Canadian Validation Survey is now closed.
The survey was conducted from December 2025 to January 2026 (public deadline), with an extended regulator deadline in February 2026. A total of 1,066 responses were received, including 998 from MRTs. Thank you to everyone who provided valuable feedback on the proposed updates.
The Alliance of Medical Radiation and Imaging Technologists Regulators of Canada (AMRITRC) and CAMRT’s Education Advisory Council (EAC) have reviewed the results and made recommendations to inform the final revisions to the competency profile, marking the completion of the validation phase. The document is currently in its finalization and is expected to be released this fall.
The next phase will involve updating the Companion Documents and Examination Blueprints. The new Examination Blueprints are planned for implementation beginning with the May 2031 Certification Exams.
