Content is peer-reviewed and accredited for Category A credit like our stand-alone educational offerings, and carefully curated to provide you with focused learning that is flexible, efficient and cost-effective.
The CAMRT issues a digital badge to all micro certificate program graduates.
Badges can be used to showcase your educational and professional achievements, displaying them on socials or professional profiles. They are embedded with metadata that authenticates the badge – on a resume, for example, employers can click on the badge to instantly verify the credential earned. In our online world, you can still proudly display your professional accomplishments!

Leadership Foundations
MRTs act as leaders, individually or as partners in the healthcare system. They take initiative and act as mentors, advocates, stewards, and facilitators to improve quality of care.
This micro certificate offers vital essential skills training. The Leadership Foundations Micro Certificate program is delivered in a mix of course formats and is intended to:
- Develop MRTs as leaders within the healthcare system
- Present strategies for advocacy
- Present strategies for exchanging information effectively in MRT practice
- Demonstrate skills that allow MRTs to contribute to the ongoing improvement of patient care
- Present methods which elevate leadership practice
- Promote strategies for leading effectively through change, on the floor or in the boardroom.
- Promote inclusive leadership and inclusive practice.

REGISTERING FOR THE PROGRAM
The Leadership Foundations Micro Certificate can be completed in one of two ways: if you are a new applicant (“new registrant”), or if you are partially done the requirements (“grandfathered registrant”).
New registrants:
- Because you are signing up for all requirements at the same time, you can register into the micro certificate for a discounted price (“new registrants” only). To review & purchase all modules for a discounted bundle price, click here.
- Please note that the full-length course added to your program will be for the next available open term. If you need to defer or transfer this course to a later term, please request this by emailing cpd@camrt.ca. The full-length course is offered in fall and winter terms and should be started within the standard 2-year timeframe of the micro certificate program.
- Please note that all courses must completed with a final exam/quiz mark of 75% or higher to be eligible.
Grandfathered registrants:
Thank you for being a part of our CPD! If you have completed any of the eligible required courses, you can register for a grandfathered registration into the Leadership Foundations Micro Certificate program. This is recommended as a cost-savings measure if you have completed the full-length course and it is still eligible for the program. CAMRT will review your application and ensure that you are eligible, and give you credit for those completed courses towards your micro certificate program.
Your start-date for the micro certificate program will begin at the time of registration.
There is no fee to register for the certificate program; any outstanding courses must be registered for at the standard course fee rate and completed independently, and completed by their standard deadlines (i.e., for an outstanding QSS, you have 4 months to complete it from the time of registration). Outstanding courses should be completed in the two years after grandfathered registration into the Leadership Foundations Micro Certificate program.

Cultural Safety: Diversity and Inclusion
Building on CAMRT’s Inclusion and Diversity Initiative, the CAMRT supports a diverse workforce and inclusive work environment through education and recognition of those who commit to a culture of respect, openness, and continuous learning.

Brand New! The Ethical Care Provider
We are excited to launch a brand new micro-certificate program designed to support MRTs in delivering ethical, patient-centered care.
This is an enjoyable and thoughtful set of online modules that were developed to ensure that Canadian MRTs have a sound basis in healthcare and end of life ethics, are equipped to recognize and work against fat bias in healthcare, can communicate effectively by becoming more aware of traditional Indigenous frameworks and also can develop meaningful bonds while maintaining boundaries. These courses will increase and develop your professionalism, while being approachable and applicable to your daily work!You can take each course individually, or you can pursue a micro certificate through a bundle offer.

Grandfathered Option: We highly recommend using the bundled price option to join us in this micro certificate! There is no formalized grandfathered option for this micro certificate, as all of these quick self-studies are being newly launched. If you take a course option individually, and later decide you’d like to join us in the micro certificate, please reach out to us and we will find the most cost-effective way to apply a discount to your remaining course(s)! We will also communicate this in your results letter, when you successfully complete an eligible course. No previous coursework is eligible for this program.
