What is the CAMRT Digital Entry-to-Practice Certificate? 

CAMRT has transitioned from mailing hardcopy entry-to-practice certification exam certificates to issuing secure digital certificates in PDF format.

This change takes effect beginning with the September 2025 certification cycle.

Certificates are issued via CanCred Factory, a Canadian provider.

Why the change? 

Enhanced Security: 

• Certificates and their related digital badges are embedded with metadata to verify authenticity and describe the achievement. 
• Certificates and their related digital badges are verifiable by external parties, whether shared online or as downloaded PDFs.  
• Unauthorized copies or forgeries will fail verification, as they lack the required metadata.  
• Access is provided through a tracked email link, and digital PDF certificates can be stored in the CanCred Passport online portal or downloaded while retaining full verification and metadata elements.

Modernized Access: 

• Mitigates risk of mailing issues or delays due to postal service interruptions and international carrier delays.
• Earned certificates can be shared to social media profiles or digital portfolios, while retaining embedded metadata that authenticates the credential and creates a permanent online record of achievement.  
• Potential employers and other verifiers can instantly confirm a credential by clicking on the verification link, which displays:  
  • Recipient’s name
  • Credential/Achievement description
  • Requirements to earn the credential
  • Credential status (active/valid)
  • Issuing organization (CAMRT)

What does the CAMRT Certificate look like? 

The entry-to-practice certificate is a long-form PDF that includes:

• A traditional “certificate” page up front, which is a visual copy of our paper entry-to-practice certificates and can be printed in high-resolution for hanging/sharing. This includes the MRT’s name, discipline, date of exam (month and year), signatures of the Director of Education and President of CAMRT at the time of issuance, and some coding that is connected to CAMRT record-keeping. This PDF “long form” digital certificate is the official CAMRT Certificate. Select Download PDF from the options offered to save it.
• This is followed by all of the data we have added, which describes: the certificate (“badge”) name, our organizational details, a description of the certificate, criteria of the certificate, issuer information, recipient information, issuance date, badge imagery and logos, evidence and alignments of the certification and tags. There is no expiration dates, as our certification does not expire, but you can view its status as “active” or “revoked” when you validate it. At the bottom, you will see the validation link and QR code, which is specific to this certificate and is linked to metadata internal to CAMRT and also to our records outside of CanCred Factory.
• There is a related online digital badge that includes a badge icon (sharable to socials and online), and a verification link. This is not the full, official CAMRT certificate, but is tied to it.

Your Digital Badge 

• On the email you receive, and on the landing page once you accept it, you will see a digital badge which is a simple icon with embedded data – this is a simple visual representation of your achievement which can be clicked for verification, added to socials etc., and stored.  This PDF “long form” digital certificate is the official CAMRT Certificate.

How do I access my digital certificate?

As the “long-form” PDF digital certificate is your official certificate of entry-to-practice examination success, you must save this safely for your records.

Accessing the certificate

• To access, you will need to receive an email from the CAMRT via CanCred Factory.  More information in “Accept your first badge” training video.
• You can view your certificate (and digital badge) online, save it in the online Passport that CanCred offers, and download/save the official PDF certificate. More details are in the FAQ.

I want to download my certificate as a PDF! Great! We highly recommend that you do this right away, and save it securely. You can learn more from the video “Download and share a PDF badge” training video.

Wait – I want my letter of completion! CAMRT member profiles will continue to display a Letter of Completion for record keeping and cross-reference.

Why do I see a version in French? FR and ENG versions of the PDF Certificate are available for your use, but do not indicate what language you passed your examination in; the CanCred Factory is bilingual as a default and you can toggle your language choice according to your preferences.

Saving and Sharing the certificate

• When you accept your certificate or any other badge), you’ll see the several media options.
• Choose the one that works best for you (we highly recommend that you download a PDF file version of your certificate “badge” and save it somewhere safe immediately!).

NOTE: You must save a PDF version of your certificate for record-keeping!

Not sure what a “PDF badge” is? You will see the term “PDF badge” on the CanCred Factory pages – this is their industry term for our digital certificate in its official long-form.

Not sure what option to choose? CanCred Factory is the company that we issue your certificate via, and they also provide free access to CanCred Passport, which is an online platform where you can choose to store your certificate (and any other digital badges you may earn, for example, from completing CAMRT CPD Certificate Programs). It’s like a wallet for your achievements!

How can I verify a digital certificate?

As a verifier, an MRT’s certificate could come to you through a shared link from CanCred Passport, an email, an uploaded document, or the download official CAMRT Certificate PDF.

• Online: Click the embedded link in the online badge version you have received to be redirected to CanCred Factory, which checks the metadata you have received against the original badge issued by CAMRT. 
• PDF: You can scan a QR code at the end of the PDF long-form certificate, click the URL provided or click the icon to upload and validate a PDF Certificate online.
• If you choose to upload a PDF to validate, an inauthentic or a file that is missing our metadata, you will see a failed authentication. Please contact CAMRT for help.

This digital certificate can be revalidated over and over, over the years. 

Why do I see a version in French? FR and ENG versions of the PDF Certificate are available for MRT use, but do not indicate what language they passed your examination in; the CanCred Factory is bilingual as a default. FR examinations are offered in 2025 in two disciplines, with the remaining two following in the near future (NM and RTT are EN only as of Sep 2025). You can toggle to use the language of your choice.

The Education Department also uses the same platform to offer digital badges for certain Continuing Professional Development (CPD) achievements.

1. Successful completion of our CPD certificate programs (CTIC, CTRT, PET/CT, CBIS, CBID, CIR, CDC)
2. Successful completion of a micro certificate program, such as the new Ethical Care Provider micro certificate, our Cultural Safety: Diversity & Inclusion micro certificate, or the Leadership Foundations micro certificate.
3. Special Recognition for specialized learning achievements. This includes our completion of the 4 targeted learning modules that make up our Identity Matters: LGBGTQ2S+ Education for MRTs.

• It’s a portable digital representation symbol of your hard work awarded upon completion of a structured educational program.
• It has embedded metadata that describes and validates an individual’s acquired knowledge, skill, or competence within a specific area of practice. This helps your badge be validated and recognized by everyone who sees it!
• The badge can be shared and displayed digitally, and digital badging allows recipients to showcase their achievements and provide proof of learning in an ever-increasing digital environment. You can embed it into your socials or professional pages.
• We hope that these badges will encourage, motivate, and connect learners to rewarding opportunities while promoting these same achievements to current and future employers – display yours with pride!

Please note:

• CPD does not provide long-form PDF certificates, those are reserved for entry-to-practice certification successes.
• For privacy reasons, eligible recipients are current CAMRT members, as well as non-members who have taken CPD with CAMRT since Fall 2018. For (micro) certificate holders whose completion predates this and wish to have access to their badge should contact us at cpd@camrt.ca.
