Call for a student volunteer – JMIRS Social Media

The Journal of Medical Imaging and Radiation Sciences (JMIRS) currently creates posts to promote the journal’s activities and published research on Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn. We are seeking a volunteer to help draft content to promote published articles and other journal activities from a fresh perspective. This role offers the opportunity to gain experience in professional communications and social media related to academic publishing.

Responsibilities

  • Help identify recently published articles and content suitable for social media promotion.
  • Draft 2 social media posts per month.
  • Suggest new ideas for increasing awareness of the journal among students and early-career professionals.

Term and Supervision

The student will work under the direction of the Social Media Lead, Jennifer Dang, and will not represent the journal or the association (CAMRT) independently. This is a content-development role only. The student will not have access to the journal’s social media accounts and will not publish content directly.

The volunteer position will run for a 6-month term, with the possibility of renewal by mutual agreement. The student will report to the Social Media Lead, who will provide direction and approve content.

To Apply

Please send a suggested post, along with a cover letter outlining your experience and interest, to editor@camrt.ca by end of day, October 12, 2026. We will respond to all applicants with a decision by November 2. The selected candidate will meet with the Social Media Lead and Managing Editor to determine a mutually convenient start time.
