Advocacy in Saskatchewan
What is Advocacy?
Advocacy is when a professional organization, like CAMRT-SK, speaks up on behalf of its members to influence decisions, policies, and public understanding that affect the profession.

Provincial Advocacy
For CAMRT-SK, advocacy means speaking up for MRTs in Saskatchewan. We listen to our members and bring their concerns forward. We engage with the provincial government, healthcare leaders, and other interest holders to ensure MRTs are recognized, heard, and supported.
For CAMRT-SK, advocacy means working to ensure MRTs are:
-
- Are recognized and respected in the healthcare system
- Have a strong voice in government and health policy decisions
- Receive the resources, support, and working conditions they need
- Are protected from changes that could negatively impact their role or patient care
Advocacy is not just about reacting to problems—it’s also about shaping a better future for the profession by building strong relationships with decision-makers and raising public awareness. Advocacy is one of the most important things we do to help MRTs thrive in their careers.

Let us Know – Ideas and Issues for Advocacy
Hearing from you, our members, is a key means by which we become aware of issues that are affecting you and other MRTs in the province.
Identification of advocacy priorities will be an important and ongoing function of the CAMRT-SK Advisory Council, but we also invite individual members to contact CAMRT-SK to share their views and priorities.
If you have a provincial advocacy issue or idea that you would like CAMRT-SK to discuss and consider, please contact the CAMRT-SK provincial manager, Mandy Kasper at mkasper@camrt.ca.
