It is the candidate’s responsibility to identify a clinical advisor (CA) at the clinical site and to ensure the clinical advisor is made aware of their role. See Role and Responsibilities of a Clinical Advisor.
Clinical Advisor/Delegated assessor eligibility requirements can be found in each Certificate Program’s Handbook.
Clinical Advisors must:
- Perform the assessment on the candidate for procedures/associated competencies or delegate assessment to another technologists
- Verify that others delegated to assess the candidate are credentialed and competent in their practice
The clinical advisor or delegated assessor will observe and assess each procedure/competency and sign/date the Summary of Clinical Competence (SCC) at the time competency is verified.
