CAMRT 2026 Call for Proposals

Apply to present at CAMRT 2025, taking place May 28-29, 2026 at the Victoria Convention Center in Victoria, British Columbia!

We are inviting education presentations, research study abstracts, and practice innovation/initiative abstracts to build a diverse and engaging conference program. Submissions may highlight topics related to any discipline or be of general interest (e.g., patient care and experience, department management, innovative education, leadership, self-care, mental health, career progression, etc.).

Poster Presentations

This stream invites submissions that explore professional learning and growth through experience and reflection. It is ideal for practitioners, students, or educators who wish to share stories, case studies, lessons learned, or critical reflections arising from real-world experiences in clinical, educational, or leadership settings.

Submissions in this category may not involve formal research methodology but should demonstrate:

Thoughtful insights
Personal or team development
Relevance to the MRT community

SUBMIT A PROPOSAL

Research abstracts report prospective or retrospective studies using formal scientific approaches. They typically describe a systematic investigation designed to answer a question and/or test a hypothesis, with valid conclusions supported by the results.

*For student submissions only: If final data are not available by the deadline, you may submit a preliminary abstract (Purpose and Methods). Results and Conclusions must be submitted at a later date.

New for 2026:

Research Study abstracts accepted for presentation will also be considered for publication in the Journal of Medical Imaging and Radiation Sciences (JMIRS). Accepted authors need to ensure that all required submission fields (title, abstract sections, disclosures, etc.) are completed in full as this information is required for publication. The CAMRT conference team will coordinate directly with the JMIRS editorial team to manage the publication process.

Practice innovation abstracts describe the development of novel innovations and process or quality improvement projects that have the potential to impact daily practice, the profession and patient care.

Practice Innovation/ Initiative abstracts accepted for presentation will also be considered for publication in the Journal of Medical Imaging and Radiation Sciences (JMIRS). Accepted authors need to ensure that all required submission fields (title, abstract sections, disclosures, etc.) are completed in full as this information is required for publication. The CAMRT conference team will coordinate directly with the JMIRS editorial team to manage the publication process.

An opportunity to showcase original research or practice innovation in both hard copy and digital PDF formats.

Poster authors are responsible for printing, shipping, and setting up their posters onsite.
A digital PDF must also be submitted. Specifications will be provided to selected authors.

Key Information for Presenters

Selected presenters will receive either an honorarium or a discounted registration, depending on the session type, length, and format. Details are in the Speaker Cheat Sheet.
Travel and accommodation costs are the responsibility of presenters. Discounted hotel and flight rates will be available.
CAMRT 2026 is a fully hybrid event. All presenters must be able to present live and in-person at the conference. Each session will occur twice:
- Once for the in-person audience at the podium
- Once for the virtual audience live from the onsite virtual studio

Submission Tips

Review the evaluation criteria before submitting
Open the submission form in advance to preview all requirements and prepare your information.
Clearly define your learning objectives, target audience, and outcomes. Use action verbs, avoid jargon, and highlight how attendees will benefit from your session.
Show relevance: Emphasize how your content reflect current practice, addresses emerging trends, or solves real-world challenges for MRTs.
Interactive sessions are encouraged – case studies, patient stories, and audience participation makes sessions more engaging.
Limit presenters to two per session when possible (compensation is shared).
Be prepared to upload:
- A current CV
- A professional photo
- A short biography (150-200 words, written in third person) highlighting your expertise and connection to the topic.
Format flexibility: Indicate if your session could be adapted to a shorter format or poster to increase acceptance opportunities.
Review the Speaker Cheat Sheet before submitting to understand expectations for hybrid delivery, compensation, and deadlines.

Tips for Research Study Submissions

Follow the required structure: Purpose, Methods, Results, Conclusion.
Ensure your submission is complete and accurate – this is required for consideration in JMIRS publication.
If submitting as a student, preliminary data may be accepted, but final results and conclusions must be submitted at later date to be determined.
Avoid referencing specific names or institutions within the abstract; use general terms (e.g., “our institution”).
Keep to the 500-word limit (approx. 3,000 characters including spaces).
Tables and figures are not permitted.
Abstracts should not include references.
Confirm that you have not presented/published the abstract at another venue.

Tips for Practice Innovation/ Initiative Submissions

Follow the required structure: Aim, Process, Benefits/ Challenges, Impacts/Outcomes
Focus on how your innovation or initiative creates practical improvements in patient care/experience, workflow, education, or professional practice.
Even if your project is not “formal research,” describe how it demonstrates systematic effort, problem-solving, and measurable impact.
Clearly explain transferability: how others in the MRT community could apply or adapt your innovation.
Confirm that you have not presented/published the abstract at another venue.
Complete all required fields carefully, as abstracts in this stream are also considered for publication in JMIRS.
