Canadian COVID-19 Cohort Study (CCS):  Study of the epidemiology of COVID-19 in Canadian healthcare workers

Join a Research study about the risk factors for COVID-19 in Canadian healthcare workers

 

Who can participate?

Staff working at participating* hospitals in Ottawa, Toronto, Hamilton, Calgary, and Edmonton who:

  • are 18-75 years of age
  • work anywhere in the institution for more than 20 hours per week

OR is a physician, nurse practitioner, or midwife with an independent practice who cares for patients 8 hours or more per week in the institution

  • access to computer or phone with internet access
  • plan to be available for at least the next 3 months

 

There are no restrictions on whether or not you have already received your COVID-19 vaccination nor about whether or not you have previously tested positive for COVID-19

 

What is being studied?

  • The rate of COVID-19 infection
  • Risk factors for infection (occupational and community)
  • Antibody levels over time
  • Uptake of vaccines against COVID-19
  • Psychological impact of working during a pandemic

 

What is asked of you?

  • Questionnaires when you join and several times throughout the year-long study
  • Report when you are tested for COVID-19
  • Report when you are vaccinated against COVID-19
  • Collect blood samples (at home) when you join, in 6 months, at the end of the study, when/if you test positive for COVID-19, & when/if you are vaccinated against COVID-19

 

Participation is voluntary

Participants will be provided with a small token of appreciation for taking part
