In January 2016, CAMRT will be launching the PET/CT Certificate Program. This program will be available to nuclear medicine technologists wishing to obtain a certificate that recognizes their knowledge, expertise and experience in PET/CT. The PET/CT certificate program will consist of both didactic and clinical components. The prerequisite to applying for registration into the program is the successful completion of the CT Imaging 1 course with a minimum exam mark 75%. Other didactic requirements will include:
- PET Theory and Clinical Applications for PET/CT
- Sectional Anatomy 1
- Sectional Anatomy 2 (Available 2016)
The program’s clinical component, which may be started immediately after registration, includes the completion of a Summary of Clinical Competence and validated clinical experience in a PET/CT suite. For more information about this certificate.
A certificate program is intended to recognize proficiency in a specialty area of a discipline. As a result, this certificate program will be a new pathway for nuclear medicine technologists.
