CAMRT-AB Member Recognition

George C. Hall, a dedicated advocate for healthcare worker rights and a passionate technologist committed to improving the profession, inaugurated the George C. Hall Address in 1978. This tradition continues, serving as inspiration for CAMRT-AB members. The recipient of this esteemed award is chosen for their extensive service to the profession, exemplifying dedication and proficiency to every member.

Candidates must meet the following criteria:

• Member in good standing with CAMRT-AB
• Has influenced the growth of the profession in clinical practice, education, research and/or administration
• Ability and willingness to provide a  presentation that is reflective of the vision and values of the association.

Judging Criteria

• Is the Nominee a CAMRT-AB Member?
• Has the nominee made a significant contribution to the profession within Alberta?
• Has the nominee influenced the growth of the profession in (one or more of):
  • Clinical practice?
  • Education?
  • Research?
  • Administration?
• Has the nominee influenced others towards increased success?
• Is the nominee recognized as a leader in the profession?

This award is presented to a member (or group of members) who has demonstrated outstanding achievements in research within the healthcare sector. This awards recipient(s) has made/makes significant contributions to advancing knowledge, improving practice and enhancing patient care through their research endeavours.

Candidates must meet the following criteria:

• Member in good standing with CAMRT-AB
• Demonstrates evidence of research and/or scholarly professional inquiry

Judging Criteria

• Is the Nominee a CAMRT-AB Member?
• Has the nominee engaged in research and/or professional inquiry?
• Has the nominee disseminated their research findings?
• Has the nominee translated their findings into evidence-informed practice?
• Does the nominee foster a culture of inquiry, demonstrating a deep commitment to research excellence?

This award is presented to a member who has shown exceptional leadership qualities by pioneering innovative approaches within their field. This awards recipient demonstrates the ability to inspire and empower others, drives positive change and leads transformative initiatives, while also leading by example by demonstrating characteristics of respect, integrity and professionalism.

Candidates must meet the following criteria:

• Member in good standing with CAMRT-AB
• Demonstrates exceptional leadership characterized by fostering inclusive and positive working and learning environments

Judging Criteria

• Is the Nominee a CAMRT-AB Member?
• Has the nominee demonstrated exceptional leadership?
• Has the nominee fostered the professional growth of others in the practice environment?
• Does the nominee effectively represent their profession in the community, through collaboration with other healthcare providers, promoting a positive image of an MRT?
• Does the nominee take time and effort beyond professional obligation to contribute to their community’s betterment by volunteering in (one or more of):
  • Provincial professional contributions?
  • National professional contributions?
  • Community Involvement (non-professional)?

This award is presented to a member who has consistently delivered exceptional care to patients, demonstrating dedication, empathy and skill in their practice. This awards recipient goes above and beyond in ensuring the well-being and satisfaction of their patients, embodying excellence in every aspect of patient interaction and care delivery.

Candidates must meet the following criteria:

• Member in good standing with CAMRT-AB
• Demonstrates professional excellence in direct person or family-centered care
• Advocates for quality patient care and facilitates a safe and positive working environment
• Inspires confidence and trust from patients

Judging Criteria

• Is the Nominee a CAMRT-AB Member?
• Has the nominee demonstrated professional excellence in direct person or family-centered care?
• Has the nominee demonstrated proof of advocacy for quality patient care?
• Has the nominee fostered a safe and positive working environment?
• Does the nominee inspire confidence and trust in patients?

This award is presented to a member who demonstrates outstanding contributions in enhancing the teaching and learning experience of MRT students during their educational program. The recipient of this award actively engages students within the academic and/or clinical environment, and consistently remains up to date with practice standards while ensuring students aspire to reach their full potential.

Candidates must meet the following criteria:

• Member in good standing with CAMRT-AB
• Directly involved in teaching students in the academic and/or clinical environment

Judging Criteria

• Is the Nominee a CAMRT-AB Member?
• Has the nominee demonstrated an ability to engage and inspire students?
• Does the nominee use innovated and creative teaching methods?
• Does the nominee act as a positive role model that fosters positive learning environments
• Has the nominee provided effective and timely feedback to students allowing them to grow in their skills?

This award is presented to a member who has made a significant contribution to the profession in the early stages of their career. The recipient of this award acts as a role model of social accountability and community engagement within the MRT community. They also demonstrate an early and ongoing interest in the endeavours of MRTs.

Candidates must meet the following criteria:

• Member in good standing with CAMRT-AB
• Practicing for five years or less

Judging Criteria

• Is the Nominee a CAMRT-AB Member?
• Has the nominee been working for five years of less in the profession?
• Has the displayed leadership qualities and taken initiative on their work through (one or more of the following):
  • Taking on extra administrative tasks in the department
  • Mentoring others
  • Leading projects
  • Engaging in research
• Has the nominee pursued meaningful professional development opportunities to grow their professional capacity?

This award is presented to a student member who has demonstrated exceptional leadership qualities in the last year of their program. The recipient of this award has shown initiative, collaboration and dedication in their organizational and leadership skills and has positively impacted their student and/or healthcare community through their leadership efforts.

Candidates must meet the following criteria:

• Member in good standing with CAMRT-AB
• Enrolled in their final year of an MRT program in Alberta or has graduated during the awards year
• Have support from a educator or preceptor who has worked closely with the student and can attest for the nominee through a letter submission

Judging Criteria

• Is the Nominee a CAMRT-AB Member (or student member)?
• Is the nominee in their final year of an MRT program in Alberta, or have they graduated in this awards year?
• Has the nominee acted as a role model of professionalism and/or volunteerism in (one or more of):
  • Clinical practice?
  • Education?
  • Research?
  • Community Involvement?

This award is presented to the graduate of an Alberta program who has filled both didactic and clinical requirements within the province, while maintaining CAMRT-AB membership. The recipeint has attained the highest score in Alberta on their initial attempt of the CAMRT certification exam for either their first or second discipline within the past year.
